Old Barn Wood Bench

I have been busy working on different projects lately. I have not had time until the last few days to work on a bench that my husband made.

This bench started out as a table but it turned into a bench. My husband started out making a table out of some old barn wood we had lying around in our garage. The table didn't turned out like he wanted it to. So it became a bench.

I painted stars on the back and underneath the seat. This gives it a special touch.

I think this table looks so much better as a bench. I think it turned out Great!

For Sale $125.00

Many happy thoughts on this very chilly Thursday !

Love for Barn Signs

I have been working on a sign for my niece this week.

This one I put the date underneath it. I think the date adds a special touch to the sign.

Look at that barn wood. The color turned out great.

I think it turned out wonderful. I can't wait to see it in her house.

I could not post this without showing you a picture of my niece that I made the sign for. She has the most beautiful family. We are so proud of her.

I know some of you are probably digging out from the winter storm. I hope you are safe and warm. Many happy thoughts from Barn Creations!!

Small Chest Before/After

I have been working on a small chest that has been in sitting in our garage for awhile. I finally got the time to finish it.

This is what it look like before.

This is after I primed it with Kilz, sanded it, and painted it twice.

It was missing a knob so I replaced all the knobs. I love these knobs I found on clearance at Lowes.

I roughed up the edges.

I think it turned out beautiful! The silver knobs look great with the black.

Old Water Fountain

At one of the houses on the farm the renters recently moved out. We had to do some work on the house before someone else moves in. While we were working we ran across this.

Daddy D( my husband) fell in love with this. I told him it needed to go in the trash. He loaded in our truck. He said "I can do something with it".

He painted it and put it back together. You could see in the above picture that it was broken and needed lots of work.

This is the fountain after. I will have to say it turned out beautiful. I can't wait until spring to plant flowers around it. He will hook water up to it and the water should come out the pot the lady is holding.

What a beautiful JUNK find!

Hope your weekend has been a good one!

Old House Window Frame

I was wondering around one day in my parents barn. I came across an old window. It had most of the glass still in it but it was cracked. I asked my dad where it came from. He said " from that old farm house". I knew what he was talking about.

Where my parents house sits today. Many years ago there use to be a old farm house that sit in the exact same spot. This window was out of it. How lucky was I to come across this and no telling how old this thing is.

I brought it home and took the glass out of it. I had to be really careful with it because the inside wood wanted to fall out. I wanted to leave it has original as I could.

It turned out wonderful!

My husband thinks I am so weird because he never knows what I may drag in. I put in our house when I finish redoing it. Then when company comes over and they ask about something I have found. He always likes telling the story behind the piece they are questioning about.

May your hearts be filled with happiness and joy!
Hope you have a good weekend!
