Old House Window Frame

I was wondering around one day in my parents barn. I came across an old window. It had most of the glass still in it but it was cracked. I asked my dad where it came from. He said " from that old farm house". I knew what he was talking about.

Where my parents house sits today. Many years ago there use to be a old farm house that sit in the exact same spot. This window was out of it. How lucky was I to come across this and no telling how old this thing is.

I brought it home and took the glass out of it. I had to be really careful with it because the inside wood wanted to fall out. I wanted to leave it has original as I could.

It turned out wonderful!

My husband thinks I am so weird because he never knows what I may drag in. I put in our house when I finish redoing it. Then when company comes over and they ask about something I have found. He always likes telling the story behind the piece they are questioning about.

May your hearts be filled with happiness and joy!
Hope you have a good weekend!

Crossroads in Life

I have always been one to believe everyone chooses the road they want to be on in life. I feel that I have created the road I am on today by making choices in my life that I felt was right for me. Don't get me wrong there have been lots of wrong turns and wrecks in my life. I have also made a few U-turns.
Sometimes you may feel your on that road all by yourself. (Thats called a road less traveled)Thought I would throw that in.

I also feel there comes times in your life when you are at crossroads.
Wondering which way to go.
These crossroads can lead you in the right or wrong direction. Lots of times you may sit there at those crossroads waiting wondering which way to go. Then someone or something will pull you in the direction that you travel on to.
For instance, teenage years are hard years on kids. My son has hit those years and is facing crossroads in his life. He is starting to make decisions on is own. Some of the choices he makes in the next couple of years could impact him the rest of his life.

Isn't he beautiful? This is one of my babies. Actually he is a big baby now.
( He gets so embarrassed when I say he's beautiful)

I can only hope and prayer he makes good choices.
I will definitely have my seatbelt on. Its going to be a bumpy ride.

Are you at a crossroad in your life? I hope you go in the right direction.
Happy Wednesday!

This is a pillow I have been working on for the up coming holiday.

It is made out of red burlap material. I used a heart stencil to paint the heart on the pillow.

This is the front of the pillow.

This is the back.

Cost: $12.00
I also have tan burlap that comes with a red heart. I will post a picture of it in a few days.

If you are interested in a heart pillow just let me know.

Many happy thoughts on a wonderful Tuesday!

Buffalo Buffalo!

Can you guess what these are? Yes Buffalo! They belong to our neighbor. This is what they do when it is very cold and snow is on the ground. You can't move them.

These creatures are used to train horses how to cut cattle. Can you believe that!

They keep them until they get pretty big. Then they are sold at a auction. I tell my husband and boys I hope nothing ever scares them. If so we are in trouble because they will STAMPEDE and I don't know how we will get them stopped.

On a brighter side, they are beautiful creatures to watch. Not that I will ever climb the fence and get in the pen with them.

I hope your Monday is full of happiness and joy.

Meet The King

I wanted to introduce you to the King. I know what you are thinking the King of Rock and Roll but our King looks a lot different from that.

This is who we think of when you say the King. Believe me he holds his name well. He thinks he is pretty tuff stuff. Not that we argue with this. Everyone knows King around our neck of the woods.

Let me tell you a few things about him. He bucks if he gets a rope under his tail. He pens his ears back if you try to pet him while he is eating. Also, he can open the stall door by himself.

He even comes right to you when you take his picture.

Also, he has done many things in his life. He has been a team roping horse for over 20 years. He has won money, ribbons, saddles, and numerous other things for people riding him.

But, my favorite thing that he does is let my youngest son ride him whenever he wants to. He will always hold a special spot in my heart because he takes care of my son when he rides him.

As they say there will never be another King. This holds true even in horses.

Hope your weekend has been a good one. Blessings and treasured memories!
