Random Picture Friday

I love Fridays! Don't you?

One reason is because I get to show you pictures of different things. I get to be all over the place and don't have to write about one subject if I don't want to.
Does that sound good to you? It does to me.

This is where Barn Creations started. The barn on our farm has been there over a hundred years. My mom has suggested to my dad to tear the barn down. I think my dad is just as much attached to this barn as me. Growing up there was not many days that I wasn't in this barn. It has played a part in who I am today.

The old Dr.Pepper crate. Yes, it did come out of the barn that you just looked at. There is a big loft in the top of the barn. I have found numerous treasures up there or some people may say JUNK. They are treasures to me!

This crate has stopped many of fights at our dinner table. Everyone now can reach all the eating utensils. I feel it also puts a touch of Spring to my kitchen with the flowers.

This is Kings nose. You remember I have talked about him before. He's best friends with Ole Boy. Can you believe horses have best friends? You can see in the picture Boy is standing behind him.

King's the best! There is not many around these parts would argue with that. You know I mentioned he has won numerous buckles, ribbons, saddles etc. over the years. One thing I forgot to mention was he also carried a queen. Not sure what that means! My niece won rodeo queen and she rode him to all the events that she went to.

I put this sign on here this week because I wanted to tell you I will be adding new things FOR SALE to my blog in the near future.

If anyone is interested in a sign just let me know. Just e-mail me or leave a comment.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

P.S. I forgot to mention I think we have warmer weather coming this weekend. Do you know how HAPPY this makes me?

P.S.S. Thanks to all you that have been reading my blog. I love hearing from you all! It is becoming very addicting and very fun.

Old Soda Crates

On the farm we used to have a old coke cooler. It was the kind that you could open the top and get your soda out of the cooler. The cooler is long gone. Now that I am older I wish I had that cooler because the sodas were so good out of it.

I found several old soda crates in our barn.

This is just a few that I found.

They needed to be washed and I also sanded them some. I didn't want them to lose their orignial look so I didn't do alot to them. There were Coke and Dr.Pepper crates. Do you remember when Dr.Pepper bottles had yellow and red emblems on them?

This is after alot of cleaning.
I put the crate in the middle of our bar. You can see I put all of our eating utensils in the crate.
This comes in real handy at eating time. No one is yelling I need a napkin or spoon its all in the middle so everyone can reach it.

I put some flowers in a mason jar to add some color.

Here's another view.

I think it turned out beautiful! I wonder what I should do with the other crates. Any Suggestions?

We got more snow yesterday and last night. The roads are slick.

SOOOOOOOO!!!!!

My kids have another snow day. There will be more sledding and snowball fights in our near future.

I wonder if I am the only one ready for Spring. I can't wait!!

Hope you have a wonderful Thursday!

The Superbowl dog

Our niece came over to watch the Superbowl with us. She brought her little dog with her. Her dog is one of those dogs that loves to just sit on your lap. Otherwise known as a lap dog.

This is Dizzy. She was our Superbowl dog.

Isn't she so cute and fluffy. She looks like a stuff animal. She smelt really good too.

Every time anyone would hold her she would fall asleep on them. She could not hold her eyes open. She is asleep in this picture.

Here she is awake. It seemed like the only time she was awake was when the Packers scored a touchdown. Maybe it was because we got really loud at that time.

They are calling for more snow and freezing temps.for us tonight. Please if you are experiencing any warm weather right now could you send it our way. I will be so grateful!

Have a warm and toasty Tuesday!

Love for Cowboys

Was your weekend as busy as ours.

Saturday we had a youth rodeo all day. I think it was colder this time than it was last time. We got a fresh blanket of snow the night before. So it was slick, cold, wet, and nasty. I was cold all day long again. It felt so good to get home and shower because all of us was wet and muddy.

Since my kids have been attending these rodeo's for awhile. I have found that we rodeo in all types of weather. Even though this rodeo is indoors its still cold because the place is a barn. Most the time barns don't have much heat.

This is my son attempting to rope a calf. He has not been doing this very long. He has never caught one yet. I can't wait to see him when he does finally catch one. He will be one happy cowboy.

This is my other son chute dogging. Watch closely because he does it really fast.
I will explain what chute dogging is some people ask what it is. This is how kids start to learn to steer wrestle cows. They stand in a chute with their arms around the steers horns. They open the chute and they wrestle the steer to the ground.
Sounds like fun ?
I never that my son would like this. He has found out this is one of his favorite events he competes in.

Long Live Cowboys!

Hope your weekend was a good one.

Many happy thoughts from Barn Creations!
