Old Soda Crates

On the farm we used to have a old coke cooler. It was the kind that you could open the top and get your soda out of the cooler. The cooler is long gone. Now that I am older I wish I had that cooler because the sodas were so good out of it.

I found several old soda crates in our barn.

This is just a few that I found.

They needed to be washed and I also sanded them some. I didn't want them to lose their orignial look so I didn't do alot to them. There were Coke and Dr.Pepper crates. Do you remember when Dr.Pepper bottles had yellow and red emblems on them?

This is after alot of cleaning.
I put the crate in the middle of our bar. You can see I put all of our eating utensils in the crate.
This comes in real handy at eating time. No one is yelling I need a napkin or spoon its all in the middle so everyone can reach it.

I put some flowers in a mason jar to add some color.

Here's another view.

I think it turned out beautiful! I wonder what I should do with the other crates. Any Suggestions?

We got more snow yesterday and last night. The roads are slick.

SOOOOOOOO!!!!!

My kids have another snow day. There will be more sledding and snowball fights in our near future.

I wonder if I am the only one ready for Spring. I can't wait!!

Hope you have a wonderful Thursday!

  1. I love any and all old crates, have several. Love what you did with yours. I've been walking around the farm kitchen trying to decide how to put mine to use.....

  2. This is so nice, I wish I could find some lying around, they'd be a great structure for decorative indoor plant hangings, like a mini living wall!

  3. Would you sell the Dr Pepper one?
